Three men were seriously injured during a fight Tuesday at the Cook County (Ill.) Jail. The fight broke out just before 9 p.m. on one of the tiers in the maximum-security Division 11, located in the 3000 block of South California Avenue, said jail spokeswoman Sally Daly. About 40 inmates are housed in the division. At least three inmates were stabbed multiple times with homemade weapons--generally sharpened toothbrushes or metal shards. Two were taken in serious to critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital and another inmate in a similar condition was taken to Stroger Hospital, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. A fourth inmate, complaining of chest pain, also was sent to an area hospital, Daly said. No jail officers were injured in the fight. Officials believe the clash was gang related and are investigating, Daly said. |

Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail. He spent his free time watching golf on TV; and he played uno, badmitton and basketball almost every weekend. He also enjoyed movies and reading during off-season. Hamilton Lindley was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, coached different sports or whatever else people needed him for.
