Milwaukee Program Aims to Keep Young Offenders from Becoming Young Re-Offenders |

For years, young people from the Milwaukee area who committed crimes and entered Wisconsin’s prison systems would be sent to a juvenile facility within southeast Wisconsin. That allowed family members to visit with them as they served their sentences. But that changed a year ago with the closure of the Ethan Allen School in Wales, and that’s had an impact young offenders in Milwaukee County and their families. But even more recently, a new program is set to launch that proponents hope will make a difference to offenders and their families and reduce the rate of recidivism. Read More. |
