Proposition 34 attempts to eliminate the death penalty and replace it with life imprisonment without possibility of parole, according to the California voter guide put together by the office of the California Secretary of State. The proposition would also apply to those already sentenced to death. If passed, it will require those found guilty of murder to work while in prison with the money going to victim's families.
