Rape charge costs man job as corrections officer |

Ohio - CHILLICOTHE — A local man facing a child rape charge has been terminated from his job as a corrections officer at Chillicothe Correctional Institution. According to a Sept. 11 disciplinary action letter received by the Gazette this week, Roger A. Benson, 53, was removed from his correction officer position effective Sept. 20. Benson had been placed on paid administrative leave and was required to regularly check-in after his Aug. 17 arrest on a secret indictment warrant on a single charge of rape, a first-degree felony. Benson has filed a grievance against the termination, according to prison officials. Read More. |
