Nearly 200 new laws take effect Thursday |

Many Oklahomans have heard about the new Open Carry Law that takes effect Thursday. However, there are also 185 other laws ranging from reckless driving to jobs for veterans. One change is for fire departments after several volunteers were busted for arson. Two firefighters from Warner were just arrested this month. As of November 1st, you can't work as a volunteer or paid fire department if you have been convicted of arson. There is also a prison reform law aimed at reducing the state’s overcrowded jails.
