SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A countywide crackdown is underway for this year's Halloween. Local and state authorities are conducting Operation Boo. Operation Boo is aimed at keeping area children safe this Halloween. Wednesday night, local police, the sheriff's department and state law enforcement officers will be cracking down on child sexual offenders and predators. Even the State Department of Corrections will be conduction Operation Boo by checking in on registered offenders to make sure they aren't involved with children on Halloween, including handing out candy or decorating their homes.
