| Prison Board signs medical services contract |

LOCK HAVEN , PA- The same conversations that have dominated the Clinton County Prison Board meetings for over half a year dominated again at Wednesday's meeting. The big difference was that some of those long-standing issues were resolved yesterday. The board hired a new medical service to provide health care to inmates, and hired a new law firm to represent the prison's legal interests. The meeting was also marked by an extensive discussion of budget issues and a much more brief examination of the search for a new prison warden after Warden Tom Duran was released recently. The board is expecting a substantial increase in the prison's financial burden to county government in 2013, mostly due to a reduction in revenue and number of inmates the county prison receives for housing state inmates. In 2012, the prison was expected to cost the county about $1.77 million. In 2013, that figure is expected to increase to about $3.16 million. Read More. |
