County shows off new prison work release center

PENNSYLVANIA - The Spartan details of the new York County Work Release Center that seemed most pleasing to county officials might be the same features that'll vex future inmates.

The walls of the former tire-treading facility are painted cinderblock, an institutional green for the female wing and an ambiguous gray-blue for the men. In the dining and common areas are tables of stainless steel with matching round seats, the designers of which might've been optimistic about the size of an average posterior.

For security reasons, photos of the living quarters weren't permitted during a media tour Thursday. Officials who attended described it as more of a prison than a home, though the future inhabitants of the building at 3403 Concord Road will be free to go to work every day.

County engineer John Klinedinst, in introducing the tour, proudly announced there would be "no fancy stuff." County Commissioner Doug Hoke, he and his colleagues having recently been criticized by a state representative who implied prison isn't very hard in York, drove home the point by calling it a "no-frills" building.

Hamilton loves books about unicorns, storms, and cubicles. He lives in Waco with his cat named Mr. Bojangles. Before his work as an attorney, Hamilton was a leprechaun chaser. His all-time record is three pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. He was forced to give up the gold in a dispute with a rival hobbit. He spends his free time tripping out on the smallest details, none of which are important He likes doing the things with the ball and scoring the points. He pays attention to the green of your eyes, even when it is not Saint Patrick’s Day. He is not Irish. Hamilton Lindley has fun plans for people in need. Whether your need a dreamcatcher for your dreams or a tape dispenser to put your life back together, he can be there for you to yell at. There are times when it is surprising that he has any friends at all. But thankfully he does have a few. He drives a Dodge Stratus. People respect him, except at home.
