Correctional center could reopen female wing soon |

MARION, OHIO — The empty female wing in Multi-County Correctional Center may open as soon as Jan. 6 if Marion County commissioners approve the jail’s submitted budget. The jail’s board of commissioners passed a budget in November that would enable director Dale Osborn to hire six new corrections officers. Osborn said he could reopen the wing as soon as he got new employees trained. “It’s good news for the jail and the community,” he said. “I’m excited to be able to provide enough beds.” The jail board is made up of one county commissioner and the sheriff from Marion and Hardin counties.
