An inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. has been charged with kidnapping and raping another inmate. A criminal complaint says 61-one-year-old Richard Swanberg told an inmate who was in a wheelchair for a leg injury that he was a massage therapist and could help. Swanberg began to give the inmate a shoulder massage in the inmate's cell but the inmate asked him to leave. The complaint says Swanberg allegedly began to rape him. Detention center officers called Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies to investigate. Swanberg was initially held on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, driving with no license and no proof of insurance. He's now being held for second-degree criminal sexual penetration and kidnapping. |
