A Mississippian has been selected to lead the American Correctional Association (ACA). Christopher Epps, who serves as the Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner, was sworn in as the 102nd president of the ACA in Houston, Texas on Monday. After being sworn in, Epps said he will focus on health care issues, more rehabilitation and less administrative segregation during his two-year term. “My experience and success in corrections will help me to not only be an effective leader for ACA but also will help my state stay on the forefront of current matters in criminal justice,” Epps said in a MDOC release.
