Two men who authorities say escaped from a Louisiana jail have been captured in West Texas. Police say 42-year-old Gerard Brown and 27-year-old Cedric Smith were arrested without incident last week at a house in Abilene. The men had been held in the Caldwell Parish Jail in Columbia, Louisiana. Smith was accused of attempted capital murder of a police officer, and Brown had been convicted of aggravated robbery. Both men were being held in the Taylor County Jail awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Brown and Smith escaped two weekends ago. |
