Local corrections officer awarded Medal of Valor |

An Osceola County corrections officer was awarded the Medal of Valor in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, CF News 13 reports. Reeshemah Taylor and several other public safety officers from around the country were honored by Vice President Joe Biden and Attorney General Eric Holder. Taylor was recognized for her courage when confronted by a high-risk inmate at the Osceola County Jail in 2009.
