| Prison inmate calls for help after corrections bus crashes |

SOUTH DAKOTA - A prison inmate used a corrections department radio to call for help after the vehicle he and other inmates were being transported in crashed on an icy road on their way to a Deadwood work site Monday. A corrections officer and an inmate were injured when the Department of Corrections Chevy Suburban crashed into a ditch and rolled at around 7:30 a.m. Monday. The Suburban was traveling on U.S. Highway 14A, known locally as Boulder Canyon, near mile post 48 when the driver lost control of the vehicle on an ice-covered stretch of road, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol. One of the seven inmates riding in the Suburban used the radio to call for help.
