Bombmaking materials, bloody clothes, surveillance equipment and Colorado prison documents were found in the 1991 Cadillac driven by the paroled convict suspected of having slain the state's corrections chief at his home a week ago, according to evidence made public Tuesday. The suspect, Evan Ebel, died Thursday after a harrowing chase and gunfight with Texas authorities. Colorado authorities announced Monday that ballistics tests confirmed that the 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol Ebel fired in North Texas was also used in the March 19 killing of Tom Clements, who headed Colorado prisons. A black backpack contained explosive materials, bombmaking instructions, handwritten directions and documents from the Colorado Department of Corrections, according to search-warrant inventory released in Wise County, Texas.
