An inmate who escaped from the Ross Correctional Institution in Ohio Sept. 25, is back in police hands and faces new charges.
William A. Elliott, 30, was reported missing around 9:35am.
Columbus police say he stole one of the institution's produce trucks and drove to his girlfriend's apartment in North Columbus.
An officer in the area of the apartment saw the truck and went to the apartment where he found Elliott inside.
Police say during the arrest, Elliott tried to grab the officer's gun during a brief altercation, but was not successful.
Now Elliott's charged with assaulting a police officer and aggravated robbery. His escape could also mean more charges.
Elliott was serving an 11 month sentence for Domestic Violence from Franklin County.
