| Juvenile rehabilitation center receives its ACA accreditation |

GREENE COUNTY — The Honorable Robert W. Hutcheson, Greene County Juvenile Court Judge, has announced the re-accreditation of the Miami Valley Juvenile Rehabilitation Center (MVJRC). The award was presented in conjunction with the American Correctional Association (ACA) 2013 Winter Conference in Houston, Texas on Jan. 28. The Miami Valley Juvenile Rehabilitation Center is a Community Correctional Facility funded as part of the Ohio Department of Youth Services and is under the jurisdiction and direction of Judge Hutcheson, at the Greene County Juvenile Justice complex at 2100 Greene Way Blvd. in Xenia. The complex also includes the Greene County Juvenile Court and Juvenile Detention Center. MVJRC is a 30 bed residential facility serving both male and female felony offenders referred and placed pursuant to court orders in lieu of commitment to the juvenile prison system of the Ohio Department of Youth Services. The facility provides services to qualifying Ohio youth, with a focus on the following 10 consortium counties: Adams, Brown, Champaign, Clark, Fayette, Greene, Highland, Logan, Madison and Union. Michael Higgins, Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation at MVJRC, is the administrator responsible for accreditation. Other professionals playing significant roles in the accreditation process include: Tawnya Henry, Program Manager; Cary Stanley, Operations Manager; Terri Green, Program Supervisor; Jake Mahaffey, Program Supervisor, Ann Sidell, Nurse Specialist; and Bonnie Hershey, Administrative Assistant (retired).
