Jail employee foils inmates' escape plan |

Two inmates at the Etowah County (Ala.) Detention Center are now facing charges for attempting to escape. A jail employee noticed a hole outside a cell window last week and alerted supervisors. Authorities said that the opening was used to smuggle drugs to the inmates who eventually planned to escape. From inside the cell, the hole had been patched with toothpaste and was not easily seen. |
