WISCONSIN - Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Gray thought he might have to teach his new narcotics K-9 a thing or two when they became partners four years ago. He was wrong. The German Shepherd named Ice was a law enforcement veteran and always eager to get to work, sniffing out crime like the best of his kind. “At the time, I thought, ‘I need to teach Ice something,’” Gray said. “What I found out was Ice could teach me something. “He’s quite the guy.” Gray and Ice have worked together to help seize countless amounts of marijuana, heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine in addition to thousands of dollars in suspected drug money in the years since becoming partners.
