| Ropes Course Hopes to Get Troubled Juveniles Back on Track |

NEVADA - Teenagers in the juvenile justice system will soon have another tool to get on the right track. A ropes course to learn trust and teamwork. Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins and Family Court Judge William Voy helped unveil the Challenge Ropes Course at the Juvenile Justice Services Facility at Pecos and Bonanza roads Monday. The course features a number of elements some that are high off the ground others that are at ground level. It also has a rock climbing wall and a zip line that travels 220 feet. The goal is have kids work together to overcome differences and build character: "It is a teamwork thing. You cannot just go up there and do it by yourself. You got to have some teamwork and trust the people you are doing it with," Commissioner Collins said. "You get two rival gang kids, on the streets would want to kill each other. You bring them out here and you make then work as a team. That is really cool to see that happen," Judge William Voy said. Read More. |
