OSP inmate dies of drug overdose |

McALESTER — An investigation into the December death of an Oklahoma State Penitentiary inmate reveals the inmate died of methamphetamine overdose. Mark A. Stacey, 43, was found unresponsive in his cell by security staff at the prison at 6:55 p.m. on Dec. 9. According to court records, the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office determined Stacey’s manner of death was accidental and his cause of death was acute methamphetamine toxicity. “During the autopsy two balloons were found in Stacey’s gastrointestinal system,” court records state, “one was intact (and) the other was ruptured.” According to court records, the balloons found in Stacey’s digestive system were sent to a lab to be tested and it was determined the substance in the balloons was methamphetamine Read More. |
