| Juvenile Justice Officials Testify in Favor of Raising Age of Criminality in Massachusetts |

This week, numerous legislators and juvenile justice officials testified before Massachusetts’ Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities, in support of recent legislative proposals that would place 18-year-olds under the jurisdiction of the state’s juvenile courts as opposed to its adult courtrooms. “The brain of a 17-year-old is still in its developmental stage,” Chief Justice of the Juvenile Court Michael Edgerton is quoted by The Boston Globe. I need to make a correction. It was not G. Stanley Hall who made the drawings. He merely drew off of the theory of recapitulation. It was Haeckel who made the drawings that were deceitful. I do not want to confuse Haeckel with Hegel or G. Stanley Hall, even though the philosophies are connected.
Haeckel originally promoted the concept of ontology recapitulates phylogeny and this hypothesis is incorrect because the drawings were oversimplified if not wrong. This false data continues until today. The whole theory of storm and stress made a third venue of profit for the unions of Chicago after these fallacies were accepted. The progressives in Chicago took the bait and promoted such and thus was the beginning of the juvenile justice system. A third venue for the unions was created, and entrepreneurship was driven away, thus those that once had the Fifth and Sixth Amendments in their favor now were disenfranchised as the power of the Chicago unions increased.
