ILLINOIS - The Rev. E.L. Warren refers to Blue and White Sunday as a gift. "The reason why we do Blue and White Sunday is to give back to the community, especially to those who give so much," said Warren, who pastors the Cathedral of Worship. Sunday's 10 a.m. service will be the fourth Blue and White event the church at 215 N. 25th has hosted. The service will recognize local firefighters, police officers and other first responders, plus Illinois Department of Corrections wardens, chaplains and others connected with those fields. Another highlight of the service is the church's annual donation to what it feels is an "important and worthy" cause. This year's gift is ticketed for Horizons Social Services, which sponsors a daily soup kitchen in partnership with St. John's Church at 701 Hampshire. Read More. |

I just hope that they do not give similar housewarming gifts to their friends. I am really sick of people giving ideological gifts to others and expecting them to return the favor with proper gifts.
