Alabama State student first graduate of internship program with Department of Corrections |

MONTGOMERY, Alabama – An Alabama State University senior has become the first student to complete a 12-week internship program with the Alabama Department of Corrections meant to help boost recruitment of correctional officers. Antwan Giles, a criminal justice major at ASU, was honored Monday as the first student to complete the program, which was launched in 2009 as part of a partnership between ASU and the department of corrections, according to a release from ASU. “The internship program is an opportunity for young people to grow.
