Summit of Hope aims to help parolees reintegrate into community

Several Springfield social-service agencies are working together to offer a free, one-stop event Tuesday to provide assistance to local parolees and people on probation.

The third annual Summit of Hope will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. People no longer under supervision can attend the expo between noon and 3 p.m.

Tower of Refuge, Fifth Street Renaissance, Springfield Urban League and Springfield Community Foundation are partnering with the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Center for Minority Health Services and the Illinois Department of Corrections.
