Overview

This e-course is intended to provide an introduction to objective jail classification for those who have not participated in the National Institute of Corrections training on objective jail classification and as a refresher or reference for those who have received the training. This course is designed to provide participants with the concepts and procedures that will help them implement a classification process based on objective criteria. The participants will develop the skill to use the instruments and tools used in assessing an inmate's risks and needs. The course will describe the various points during an inmate's stay that are opportunities for the assessment (classification) process.
