Inmates fight fire in Beaver County
By AP
Published: 10/11/2004

Two inmates from the Beaver County Jail who were out on work release helped save a burning home in Conway last week.
Joseph Sheppard of Aliquippa and Joseph Taylor of New Castle were on their lunch break when a man's house caught fire.
Firefighters were out on another call, so the two men sprang into action -- using a garden hose to fight the flames.
Warden William Schouppe says Sheppard and Taylor will most likely get letters of commendation that could help them at their next parole hearings.
