Revolution in battling ex-felon recidivism touted |

A new focus to improve criminal justice programs across the country has received more public support, thanks to lower crime rates and more research into keeping criminals from committing new crimes, a national expert told advocates Tuesday in Wilmington. “We’re seeing something akin to a revolution in criminal justice in this country,” said Laurie Robinson, a former assistant U.S. attorney and a professor at George Mason University. “We’re at an important crossroads, one where ideology has taken a back seat, and science and pragmatism have come to the fore,” she said. “And our need for answers has never been greater.” Read More. |
