Corrections department keeps LSU for telemedicine |

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana's corrections department has tweaked its plan to hire a Texas company to provide medical care for inmates in state prisoners. Lawmakers had complained when the Department of Corrections chose Texas-based U.S. Telehealth to provide telemedicine services that had previously been done by LSU. Corrections Undersecretary Thomas Bickham told The Advocate (http://bit.ly/13xs5nF ) on Monday that LSU's School of Medicine will keep the contract to provide services for prisoners in south Louisiana prisons.
