OHIO - A corrections officer at the Lucas County Jail is now behind bars herself. Michelle Vining, 31, was arrested Saturday afternoon. She's accused of trying to smuggle drugs into the jail. Lucas County Sheriff Jon Tharp says her arrest follows a three-week investigation. Tharp says, at the time of her arrest, Vining was heading to work with marijuana and prescription drugs. "It is unfortunate to see that happen to one of our own, but we have taken oath to enforce the law, abide by the Constitution of the United States, and we will do that," Tharp says. "Law enforcement people and corrections officers certainly are not above the law, and we just can't tolerate this." Read More. |
