Corrections officer faces 3 felony drug charges |

SOUTH BEND - An officer with the Indiana Department of Corrections is facing the prospect of time behind bars himself. Kenneth Bell, 26, has been charged by the St. Joseph Prosecutor's Office with three drug-related charges. Bell is charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and dealing in marijuana, all Class D felonies. According to officials with the prosecutor's office, the charges stem from a search warrant executed at a home in the 1800 block of East Fox Street in South Bend on Thursday. Indiana State Police officers raided the house and found a marijuana growing operation in the basement of the house with eight live rooted marijuana plants. Officers also found four dead plants and marijuana stalks that had been harvested. Read More. |
