On Aug. 12, it was announced that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder had started a push toward criminal justice reform as it relates to drug-related crimes. Our founding fathers believed in the rule of law. The reason Lady Justice is blind is our founders believed that those who govern should be made to partake of the same soup they create. Rich or poor, black or white, the law of the land applies to all, including and especially to political leaders. The latest word is Holder is asking for federal judges to ignore federal drug laws as it relates to sentencing guidelines. This is no different than the Obama administration telling well-heeled political campaign contributors that their businesses are exempt from key portions of Obamacare, while the rest of us are left to deal with grossly inflated premiums, or in the case of my business, our plan was eliminated altogether. I thought I wouldn’t lose my plan, Mr. President? I digress, Sorry. President Obama and Holder’s war on drugs is going to look a lot like his war on Al-Qaeda. Bold statements, followed by a hasty retreat, followed by a hollow declaration of victory.
