Cali Inmates Can Marry Same-Sex Partners

California prisoners are free! ... to marry their same-sex partners. The California Department of Corrections announced that in light of the Supreme Court’s overturn of Prop 8, inmates would now be eligible to marry whomever they choose on the outside. "Inmates have the same legal right to marry as those who are not inmates," said Bill Sessa, a spokesman for the state corrections department. They will not, “at this time,” be able to marry other inmates, due to “security concerns.”
