Sioux City corrections facility could begin accepting inmates in November |

SIOUX CITY | It's been a long wait to begin filling the new wing at Sioux City's Residential Treatment Facility, so Steve Scholl isn't going to fret over waiting a bit longer. Scholl said Friday that once 11 residential officers are hired -- hopefully by early October -- and trained, the 42 beds of the Linn A. Hall Center at 515 Water St. will begin to fill, bringing the facility's capacity to 99 inmates. "I'm kind of in the mode of let's get it done, but I know we have to follow the process. It just takes time," said Scholl, director of corrections for Iowa's 3rd Judicial District, which includes Sioux City. Read More. |
