Three inmates who escaped from a south Georgia prison last weekend were captured in southern Oklahoma. The Department of Corrections in Georgia says they were apprehended in Love County by local police and a fugitive taskforce. The three were arrested without incident last week, but few other details have been released. The fourth fugitive, 30-year-old Tracy O. Mullins, who was serving at least three years for firearms possession and other offenses, was arrested yesterday after being shot by during a burglary in Birmingham, Alabama. The men fled from medium-security Montgomery State Prison on October 9 after cutting a hole through a security fence. Besides Mullins, officials identified the escaped inmates as 19-year-old Joshua J. Thompson, who was serving an 18-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter; 21-year-old Joseph M. Lee Junior, who was serving at least 12 years for armed robbery and other offenses, and 22-year-old Micah D. Sheer, who was serving 17 years for aggravated assault and burglary. |
