| Death row inmate sues prison system over execution drug |

A death row inmate from Lubbock, who is scheduled to be executed next Wednesday, has sued Texas prison system administrators over the drugs used in executions. Attorneys for Michael Yowell and two other condemned prisoners have asked for specific information about the drugs used, and their source, to determine if they are safe, reliable and effective. Yowell murdered his parents in their Lubbock home in 1998. He would be the first executed since the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's previous supply of pentobarbitol expired last month.
