Actor Danny Trejo to speak to drug court grads |

CALIFORNIA - Actor Danny Trejo of “Machete” fame will be the keynote speaker at the Nov. 12 Tulare County Adult Drug Court graduation. Trejo, who has starred in a long list of movies and who is also someone who has recovered from addictions, will speak at the 7 p.m. ceremony at the Visalia Convention Center, 303 E. Acequia St. in Visalia. More than 180 graduates are expected to attend. This will be the 17th graduation of those who have been clean and sober thanks to the drug court. Over the past 16 years hundreds of Tulare County residents have had their lives turned around by the drug court and it is not uncommon to have a father and son, or even a father and a daughter in the same graduating class. This will also mark the last graduation that Judge Glade Roper will oversee. He has retired from the Tulare County Superior Court bench. He is being replaced in conducting drug court by Judge Gary Johnson. Roper has done drug court all 17 years and said it is the most difficult thing he is leaving behind. Read More. |
