Attorney's for Lynette Johnson filed a statement of material facts in her case against the state. Johnson is the widow of correctional officer Ronald "R.J." Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty by Rodney Berget and Eric Robert during a failed prison escape attempt. KSFY News has a copy of Johnson's court submission. Lynette Johnson's attorney's have outlined the facts as they see it. But the state said, just because someone submits these documents to a court, doesn't necessarily mean what they claim as facts are true or must be accepted by a court of law. In this 81-page court document, attorney's for Lynette Johnson are naming names. The documents detail Berget's life, starting with the day he was born in Aberdeen and leading up to his role in R.J.'s death. But Berget is not the only one Lynette blames for the loss of her husband of 31 years. These documents also blame staff members with the state and the department of corrections. People her attorneys believe ignored warning signs and should be held accountable in the murder of Ronald "R.J." Johnson. But the state Secretary of Corrections sent us a statement, saying this case will be decided by a court, based on law, and the facts presented to a judge. The statement reads quote, simply because one side states something as fact in a submission does not necessarily mean that it is true or must be accepted by the court.
