Butte man sentenced to Dept of Corrections for fatal crash

A 67-year-old Butte man who pleaded guilty to negligent homicide for a fatal crash was sentenced Thursday to 10 years with the Department of Corrections with five suspended.

The department will determine the placement for J.R. Hollingsworth.

The Montana Standard reports Hollingsworth's attorney requested he be placed in a pre-release center.

Prosecutors say Hollingsworth ran a red light on Aug. 23, 2012 and hit the side of a car being driven by 74-year-old Forrest Felton. Felton died at St. James Healthcare in Butte.
