A part-time corrections officer was hired and approval was given to Mony Wood, jail administrator, for expenditures of $672.29 for inmate uniforms, handcuffs, leg irons and one transport set at Monday night’s meeting of Middleport Village Council. Amie Hart who appeared before Council was hired as a part-time corrections officer after it was reported that Michael Barker, hired for the position at the last meeting, reported he could not accept the position because of his other work schedule. Hart noted that she has experience as a corrections officer having worked at Lakin and also in other locations in that capacity. It was noted that the siren taken from the old village hall is not repairable, and Councilman Craig Wehrung suggested Council begin a search to replace it. It was noted that it is not necessary for use by the fire department but for other purposes. Lawrence Powell appeared before Council about water quality at his home and testing will be carried out by the water department. Read More. |
