A hospitalized inmate attacked a corrections officer at Albany Med on Saturday. Officials say the inmate, Anthony Smith, was hospitalized after intentionally swallowing something on November 5. A nurse was attempting to treat Smith when officials say he became argumentative and aggressive. Smith was not restrained and allegedly punched a correction officer in the head multiple times when the sergeant attempted to come between Smith and the nurse.
