Ulster Correctional inmate charged with felony after corrections officer injured during fight |

An inmate at the state’s Ulster Correctional Facility has been charged with felony assault after a corrections officer was injured trying to break up a fight between the man and another inmate, state police said on Friday. Manuel Cuevas, 26, was arrested at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Berme Road prison by state police at Ellenville. Police said Cuevas got into a fight with another inmate and that when officers intervened, Cuevas allegedly failed to comply and became combative, striking one of the officers in the face and dislodging a front tooth.
