'Ivies vs. Inmates' chess challenge pits Princeton U. students against N.J. State Prison inmates |

TRENTON – The "Ivies vs. Inmates" chess challenge between Princeton University students and inmates at the maximum security New Jersey State Prison resumes this week. Five highly-rated chess players from Princeton will visit the prison in Trenton on Friday morning for the showdown, which dates back more than a decade. The students will play against multiple inmates simultaneously. "In essence, different worlds are colliding," according to a N.J. Department of Corrections press release announcing the match.
