| Officers penalized in escape |

Authorities in Sullivan County, N.H., say an inmate was able to escape from the county jail last month because corrections officers weren't paying close enough attention. Corrections Superintendent Scott Hagar said Everett Disorda, 33, escaped by scaling the fence of an interior containment area, getting onto the roof and jumping off the front of the building. A contractor was visiting the jail to look into whether the fences should be fortified. Hagar says officers who were observing inmates during a recreation period have been reprimanded. |
