DeKalb County, Ala. Sheriff Jimmy Harris said the incident was first reported in late September. A joint investigation was opening by federal immigration officials and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office after a man complained that $325 in cash was missing from his property after he had been booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center.
