Police are on heightened alert the day after a serious scare at an Albuquerque parole office.

The FBI is investigating a pair of suspected pipe bombs found outside the office Thursday.

The Department of Corrections says this is probably the safest place in the city right now as it is under increased security, but that is not enough to ease the concerns of parents who have kids going to school across the street.

“I can't believe we're going through this again,” said Scott Cameron, the father of two boys who attend Monte Vista Elementary School, the school near the Probation and Parole Office in Nob Hill.

Marcantel would not go into details, but Friday KRQE News 13 saw increased security around the office with officers circling the building with a K-9.

“There should be no doubt that that office and that community is safe,” Marcantel said.
