A man’s conviction for assaulting a Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections employee was affirmed this week after the 12th District Court of Appeals ruled he properly pleaded guilty to the offense. Donte Irvin appealed to the 12th District, arguing that the Warren County Court of Common Pleas failed to affirm his understanding of the nature of the charge against him before accepting his plea.
