Nevada Department of Corrections Reports Inmate Death |

The Nevada Department of Corrections reports that on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, inmate Cornelius Acres died at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. Acres was a 60 year old male serving a life sentence for Attempted Capital Murder in the State of Virginia. He has been incarcerated with the NDOC on this case since June 16, 1997, under the Interstate Corrections Compact Agreement. Virginia authorities have been notified. Acres had been hospitalized for a terminal illness. The Carson City Coroner's office responded to the facility. An autopsy will be conducted. As the inmate was terminally ill, the Department spoke to the inmate regarding end of life issues including next of kin. The inmate declared that he had no next of kin. Read More. |
