The Oklahoma Board of Corrections is planning to interview candidates next week for the state's vacant director position. The seven-member board will interview candidates Wednesday and Thursday for the new director of the Department of Corrections. The board launched a national search after longtime director Justin Jones announced his resignation last summer after highly publicized clashes with the governor's office and legislative leaders over the growing use of private prisons to house state inmates. Newly elected Board Chairman Kevin Gross has said he hopes to have a candidate selected and ready to be confirmed by the state Senate once the legislative session begins in February.
