| Department of Correction Orders Avalon to Shut Down |

Oklahoma Department of Corrections officials have ordered a halfway house in Tulsa to shut down. A letter from the department of corrections was sent to the Avalon Correctional Center in downtown Tulsa this week informing them that all residents need be removed by Jan. 24. KTUL obtained a copy of the letter sent to Avalon that described there are three active investigations into the center's "serious infractions" ranging from possession of contraband to offender security.
